Episode 25: Regiments of the Imperial Guard

Episode 24 – Choosing the Right Game System

This week, Kurt and Mark are joined by Austin! Kurt continues building out his 30K Raven Guard, Mark assembles a cavalry squad for Heroscape, and Austin begins his journey into Horus Heresy in more ways than one.

Kurt hosts a demo game of The Horus Heresy for Austin and Jonathan to showcase how the system plays. Mark gets several Heroscape games in, and Austin fits in two games down in McMinnville.

Episode 23 – What’s in Kurt’s Bag? / Warhammer Preview Recap

Mark gets some hobby time in assembling the new Chaos Marauders kit, while Kurt wraps up Gotrek & Felix Book 4 and puts in work on his Goliath Necromunda gang. After listening back to the last episode, Kurt realizes he may have talked himself into buying into the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game, all while trying (and maybe failing) to resist the pull of a racing wheel and VR headset.

On the gaming side, Mark plays a couple games of Heroscape, and Kurt heads to Huntsville for his first game of Heresy 3rd Edition and also gets in a match of Necromunda.

For the “main topic,” the guys break down what Kurt actually packs in his battle bag - the essentials he brings to game day. They close out the episode by reacting to the latest Warhammer Preview reveals and, as tradition demands, finish things off with a little Star Wars talk.

In their final episode of 2025, Mark settles into his new place, glues together more Epic Warpath models, and squeezes in a game of Heroscape with his roommate. Episode 20 - The Scale of Wargaming
