Episode 35 – Best of the Adeptus Astartes

This week the guys pick their favorite Space Marine chapters, but first, the usual rundown of hobby progress and recent games played. Kurt has been busy with Malstrain Genestealers and a squad of Atalan Jackals, and he's already got the new Necromunda book on preorder. Steve picks up a couple of units of Assault Intercessors, while Austin admits to a rough few weeks at work that left little time for the hobby table. On the games side, Kurt and Steve both get matches in against Austin, along with a few other games worth discussing along the way.

Episode 33 – 11th Edition Is Here!

After a short and unexpected hiatus, the guys are back and they brought a lot to catch up on. This episode is packed with hobby progress and games played, starting with a recap of a gameday the crew attended to celebrate Mark and his new journey. Kurt and Austin also got several games in, splitting time between 10th and 11th edition to get a feel for both side by side.

With 11th edition on the horizon, hobby motivation has taken a hit across the board. This week Kurt, Austin, and Stephen find themselves in a familiar pre-edition funk — models unpainted, games unplayed, and eyes firmly fixed on what's coming next.

For the main topic, the guys break down everything they know about the incoming edition. Episode 31 – Favorite 40K Units

What makes a unit truly your favorite? Is it performance on the table, the model itself, the lore behind it, or something you just can't quite explain? This week Kurt, Austin, and Stephen each make their case for the 40K units closest to their hearts.

The episode opens with hobby updates and a roundup of games played, or at least attempted. Then the guys dive into their picks, ranging from the hard hitting reliability of Assault Terminators on the loyalist side to the tactical brilliance of Commander Farsight representing the Xenos factions. Expect strong opinions, some friendly disagreement, and more than a few interesting facts along the way.

To close things out, Kurt steps away from the battlefield for a moment to recount the harrowing experience of taking four kids to the movies by himself, along with a quick review of The Mandalorian and Grogu.

Episode 30 – When the Dice Betray You

Kurt had a game. The dice had other plans. This week on Webway Radio, his pain becomes your gain as the guys dive into one of the most relatable topics in all of wargaming - catastrophic, soul-crushing, completely unpredictable bad luck.

Before the therapy session begins, the guys catch up on hobby progress and recent games. Kurt finally gets a 40K game in against Geoff and a Chaos list packing two Defilers, which goes about as well as you might expect. Austin and Mark meanwhile decide the rules are more of a suggestion and play a mashup of 10th and 11th edition just to see what happens.

Episode 29 - Building A List And Checking It Twice

List building is one of the most rewarding and most debated parts of the wargaming hobby. This week Kurt, Austin, and Stephen take on the full process of crafting an army list for Warhammer 40,000, with insight that translates to virtually any wargame system.

The guys open with hobby updates: Kurt hunts down the hard to find Shatterpoint: I Am No Jedi Deluxe Duel Pack, and Stephen reports back from the table after running his Astra Militarum at a local RTT.
